Furbacca - Furby Boom Takes on a New Personna

If you are looking for a pet Wookiee, the closest you will probably come is the new Furbacca, introduced in 2015 by Hasbro.

This Furby takes a little twist from the earlier Furby Boom. While other Furbys may have added bling or fashionable fur, this new creature participates in a little bit of costume play. He takes on the costume of Chewbacca of Star Wars fame.

But more than the Chewbacca look, this latest interactive toy speaks Wookiee anud sings the Star Wars theme song.

Just like its predecessor Furby Boom, this incarnation comes with its own app to enhance the play experience. By interacting with the app, Furbacca can hatch Furblings that resemble other Star Wars characters. So it may be possible to have a virtual Hans Solo.

There are a few things you need to know about this particular interactive toy:

  1. ONLY Furbacca will be able to interact with the new Furby app.
  2. Earlier versions of Furby and Furby Boom wi,,ll not be able to interact with the new app.
  3. FURBY AND STAR WARS COLLECTORS TAKE NOTE: This version of Furby comes in a closed box. Furbacca will not be visible without opening the box.
  4. Earlier Furby Booms could learn the names of other Furbys and become friends. It does not appear that this is possible with this new version.

With the release of the latest Star Wars movie (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) on December 18, 2015 there is the possibility that this newest Furby could be in high demand.

If you have an interest in other interactive toys or Star Wars memorabilia, you might be interested in the consumer version of the new droid introduced in the movie. Sphero's BB-8 is now available at Amazon. This too could be in short supply as the release of the movie approaches.
