Furby Connect - Moving Forward
On July 12, 2016 Bluetooth® technology will be available with the exclusive Amazon launch of Furby Connect.
The newest addition to this growing family of furry creatures with their own language brings promise of a new level of interactive play.
We are all familiar with the bit of quirkiness that brought individual personalities to the other members of this unique family. We became familiar and comfortable to the various responses to sound and touch.
One of the first things you will notice with this new playmate is the uniqueness of its eyes. The eyes are full color LED screens that allow for as many as 150 eye related expressions to help express the emotions Furby Connect is trying to convey. These expressions also aid in understanding the more than 1,000 phrases it is capable of speaking.
A second notable feature is the addition of a Bluetooth® antenna on the top of its head. This antenna will light up whenever new content is received. Slowly our homes are becoming more interactive with the addition of the Internet of Things (IoT) and this is a step by Hasbro to bring this technology to the play world of our kids. Even Hasbro's website says you might even be able to move the antenna around like a joy stick.
What brings all of this together is the Furby Connect World app which will be available for download at the Amazon Appstore, App Store and Google Play. This app supports specific Fire tablets, iOS and Android devices. Check Furby.com for more information and to ensure the app is available for your particular mobile device.
Now this next feature is one mom and dad will really appreciate. Do you remember how difficult it was to get the previous generations to settle down, be quiet, and hopefully go to sleep? You did everything and eventually resorted to removing the batteries. Now the new Furby Connection comes with a sleep mask. Once this mask is in place your new friend will settle down and be ready to go when you wake him up. But remember, your new friend will also know what time it is so do not be surprised if he or she begins asking to be fed.
Identified for those age 6 and above. Requires 4 AA alkaline batteries (not included)

Furbacca - Furby Boom Takes on a New Personna
If you are looking for a pet Wookiee, the closest you will probably come is the new Furbacca, introduced in 2015 by Hasbro.
This Furby takes a little twist from the earlier Furby Boom. While other Furbys may have added bling or fashionable fur, this new creature participates in a little bit of costume play. He takes on the costume of Chewbacca of Star Wars fame.
But more than the Chewbacca look, this latest interactive toy speaks Wookiee anud sings the Star Wars theme song.
Just like its predecessor Furby Boom, this incarnation comes with its own app to enhance the play experience. By interacting with the app, Furbacca can hatch Furblings that resemble other Star Wars characters. So it may be possible to have a virtual Hans Solo.
There are a few things you need to know about this particular interactive toy:
With the release of the latest Star Wars movie (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) on December 18, 2015 there is the possibility that this newest Furby could be in high demand.
If you have an interest in other interactive toys or Star Wars memorabilia, you might be interested in the consumer version of the new droid introduced in the movie. Sphero's BB-8 is now available at Amazon. This too could be in short supply as the release of the movie approaches.

Furby Furbling
Furby Furblings have broken loose from the digital world and are now available as real touch and feel Furblings.

Furby Boom took the 2013 Christmas season by storm. It became one of the hottest toys to hit the retail market.
Many things fueled that rush, but one has to wonder if maybe part of that toy gold rush was the introduction of the new Furby Boom app and the ability to hatch virtual Furblings and build a family of Furbys that interacted with one another.
While it was great that you could care for these virtual Furblings with your connected electronic device, there was something missing.
That something missing was the ability to hold that new Furbling in your hands, feel its fur and show it off.
In 2014, Hasbro introduced new real Furblings. Just like the larger Furby Booms, these real Furblings come in a variety of exciting colors and patterns.
Since these are "baby" Furbys they do experience some limitations. They will not respond to your voice or commands and they do not have motion of their own. They cannot be x-rayed and are unable to go to use the bathroom by themselves. In addition, they cannot use the shower or eat big Furby's food.
Furby Booms can also talk to the new physical addition but they cannot initiate that conversation. They will respond to a Furbling.
Keep in mind that versions of Furby earlier than the Furby Boom will not be able to interact with the Furbling. Only the Furby Boom App can be used with a Furbling. The earlier 2012 version of the Furby App will not work with Furblings.
Hasbro has also added a new twist. You can use the Furby App to scan your Furbling to unlock a virtual egg and 3 room accessories.
There is also one uncommon characteristic of these new toys. For most electronic toys with interactivity AA or AAA batteries are required and the toy does not come with batteries.
Furby Furblings require 3 A76 alkaline batteries. Fortunately, these Furblings come with batteries.

Out of Stock!!! Not exactly what you want to see coming up to the busiest shopping day of the Christmas season.
I was doing a bit of web surfing tonight to see how the demand for Furby Boom is shaping up and to provide as much up to date information I can discover about the hot new interactive toy for 2013.
I am finding some information about Black Friday (Black Thursday ?) special pricing on Furby's but for a very narrow window of opportunity. Walmart and Toys R Us will be having special pricing for their Thursday shoppers but for spedific hours.
What I did find out today was that individual prices are starting to fluctuate depending upon popularity and availability. I also discovered that Amazon.com has a much better selection of Furby Boom. All 16 colors/patterns are available at Amazon where only 12 are available at Walmart.com and one of those is out of stock.

The additional Furby Booms you will not find available from Walmart.com but are available at Amazon.com are listed below. Click on any one of the links to find Furby Boom at Amazon.

More Furby Booms
Hasbro has now added six (6) more Furbys to their lineup. It is beginning to look like the Furby population can escalate almost as quickly as the virtual Furblings. There are now sixteen (16) Furbys to choose from.
But this expansion makes for a greater selection for you.
Below, I will identify the new additions for you:

Meet the Four Newest Furbies
Earlier in the year Hasbro introduced six new Furby Booms. These six were completely new with new vibrant colors and designs. And that was not all. They also came with a brand new app that worked with iOS devices, Android devices, and the Kindle HD.
But six were not enough. It is now time to introduce the four newest additions to the Furby family.
